Hello

Hello & Welcome
ugh face

I’m currently rebuilding the website as the old one got totally messed up when i was playing around with things (no idea what happened).

So i thought that while it was a total clusterfuck mess of SQL, i would take the opportunity to give it a whole new life and everything.

So if you go clicking on things you might find that very strange things happen. Don’t moan, i know a lot of things are broken, i’m working on it, it takes time.

I’ve got tons of old posts and pages from three websites that i’m working through and will be gradually posting all the stuff i want to keep on here while fixing all the broken things as i go through, one post, one page, at a time.

On top of doing all that, i will, of course, be continuing to add more new content and my latest posts will always appear directly below.

Or, if you prefer, you can also follow me on Twitter and Pinterest where i put a link to all new posts.

Enjoy

Breath Perception — Barbara Ann Kipfer

Breath Perception -- Barbara Ann KipferI really do need to have a non-fiction binge at some point.

A while ago i got into a rather good period of alternating between a non-fiction and a fiction book – and i got through quite a bit of non-fiction that i otherwise wouldn’t have read. That’s my biggest reading problem, i so love reading fiction and i’m so excited about all the good stories i have lined up waiting that i just never get around to reading all the good non-fiction that i buy unless i force myself. So i’m thinking that my previous rule… ‘i can’t start another fiction book until i’ve read a non-fiction one.’ is definitely going to have to come back to clear some of the backlog.

The crazy thing is that i will enjoy it once i get into it.

The Ark — Patrick S Tomlinson

The Ark -- Patrick S TomlinsonA rather enjoyable detective story set on a generation ship (which by their nature are always quite dystopian) carrying the last of humanity to a new planet after the Earth gets destroyed after finding itself in the path of a wandering black hole.

This was one of those books that i just flew through, which is always a good sign of how well something is written and how well it perks up my interest in it.

So yeah, all good, and there’s another two books to follow in the trilogy which i’m looking forward to.

The next book is Trident’s Forge.

Uprising — Anthology

Uprising -- AnthologyIt got thrown into my path somewhere along the way and i couldn’t resist that cover.   So i had a look at what it was about and just had to buy it.

12 writers writing 12 stories over 2382 pages is good value for 99p, but the catch is that they’re all prequels or, first books in, a series.   But that’s not too bad as it gives me a cheap way of trying out a few writers that maybe i wouldn’t have done and you never know what you may find.   The Given is certainly a gem and i’m really enjoying that series immensely.

Sadly, i don’t think it’s available any more.
